Rules are meant to be broken …

That’s not the motto I live by. I found out early on that breaking the rules only leads to disaster.

I followed the rules all my life. I worked hard, and when my intended athletic career didn’t pan out, I continued my education, became an accountant, and married the man who made my parents happy.

Too bad he didn’t believe in sticking to the rule of fidelity.

Newly single, and not ready to date again, I find myself helping my sister with her unconventional wedding plans. I say unconventional because who marries two men?

But my twin has always walked her own path.

It’s at this very unconventional affair that I meet a man who has a set of rules of his own.

And for the first time in my life, I find myself wanting to break every one of them just to see how delicious his punishments can be.
